words to live by

Nuggey’s brand new (to him) bike got stolen.

As it turns out, his new neighborhood friend was the one who took it. His parents figured it out tonight, and the boy and his dad came over just a short while ago to return it and apologize.

The apologizing was very, very hard for Nuggey’s friend. The whole thing was quite emotional. Yet beautiful at the same time.

I think any time we are able to act like Christ, it’s beautiful. When we give birth to new life, creating another human on this earth, we are like God, Who is the ultimate creator. When we love the widows and orphans, Jesus is rich in us, as we act as He has commanded. And when we forgive our neighbor, or our husband, or our new friend who stole our bike, we are able to act like Christ. And it’s beautiful.

Nuggey recited a Bible verse for me the other day, actually, and I recorded him. We have been talking alot about being tenderhearted and always forgiving, no matter what. What a great chance for my sweet son to practice exactly that today.

And the Bible verse?

Words to live by, to be sure.

1. Garage sales

I went garage sale-ing with an old friend and a new one today. It’s not normally my thing, the rummaging part, but getting together with friends and finding those “finds” is so worth it. I got a wagon. And I promise it wasn’t just because we had all forgotten our strollers and our (youngest) kids were whining and running helter skelter and I really just needed to contain them. It was because we don’t have a wagon and I thought having one would be nice. Promise.

2. Photographs

I’ve been working on finishing up the photographs from our spring road trip. Had you heard? Hehe.

2. Weight loss

Remember Jo Lewis, who won one of the Ignite Packs I gave away? She did her 8 Day Challenge this past week and lost 16 pounds!

I did another 8 Day Challenge using my Ignite Pack, too. I didn’t ask Jo to share hers. I lost another 6 pounds doing it!

I’m taking a break for 8 Day Challenges for now, though I know I’ll do another one before too terribly long, to zig zag for a while. Hoping to slowly keep losing weight this way.

Part of what is making this journey keep going as well as it’s going for me, I think, is the support. Never in Weight Watchers or anywhere else have I had a personal, always reachable, network of encouragement and support as well as answers to my questions from experts like I have now. Yes, since starting the Facebook group for me, all those of you who have started with the Xyngular products so far, and my Xyngular mentors, I’ve been on there more than my MckNormalFacebook page. Which is, ahem, saying a lot.

If you would like any information on these supplements, would like to order and join our ever growing Facebook support group, learn prices, get ingredient lists or anything else, you can just email me at: contact.mckmama (at) gmail.com and I’ll get right back to you with whatever you need!

3. Running

I can now run about three miles. Straight. Like, without stopping. I’m very proud of myself. And my knees and ankles haven’t been bothering me at all (like they were a while back).

When I run, I listen to Need to Breathe. And sweat. And feel my belly jiggle. But not nearly as much jiggling as before is going on. I’m finally starting to not lead with my stomach when I run. It’s nice.

4. Marriage

I still love my husband. Satan would still love to destroy my marriage. I spend a lot of time telling him to f off and take his lies elsewhere. We haven’t seen MckDaddy in a long time. God has been passionately drawing me more near to Him, showing me where my heart still needs to soften. I’m trying.

5. Niece

My niece Azri is turning one year old tomorrow! I’m pretty sure that was the fastest year of my life. I miss my sister a lot and hope to be able to see her soon. She’s a wonderful sister and an amazing friend.

6. Sports

The three biggest kids (Stellan wasn’t game whatsoever) got to pick an activity or sport to be in this spring. They all (okay, with a little “help” from me) picked swimming!

7. Fight

I might have (almost, had I not stayed very, very calm during it all) gotten into a serious fight with one of my neighbors I didn’t know before said fight. But I’ll never tell.

I also may or may not have recorded some of the disagreement with the camera on my phone. Just in case.

8. Dinner

I’m not cooking dinner tonight. We’re having pizza. Ordered in. At someone else’s house! The best way to do it. Building relationships in our new (but yet old, we have landed near to where my husband and I grew up, so our families are still here!) area has been such a blessing. Nuggey is particularly good at it. After dinner yesterday, he said, “I need to go! My friend is waiting for me!” and out the door on his new (used but new to him) bike. Love it.

9. Headaches

I don’t struggle with headaches, thankfully, but I’ve long felt awful for people (like my sister and mother in law) who do. Who knew that the health supplements I’ve been taking also are freeing people from headaches and migraines? Wow. There are a bunch of readers who started the products just for that reason and have been headache free since beginning, even those who got them many times a week. Ao awesome.

10. Race

The kids are running in their very first race soon! They can hardly stand the wait. Well, except for Big Mac. He’s a bit nervous. I keep telling him it’s only for fun and he absolutely does not have to do it, but he wants to. And then gets all nervous about it. We’ll see how it pans out.

Happy Friday!

It was this little sweetie’s first time being photographed with his older brother’s giraffe. His brother went to be with Jesus shortly after his birth. The brotherly bond is strong in this family, and the way this symbolic stuffed animal fit into the shoot was beautiful.
