Please!
Please, please don’t tell my big kids that their littlest brother gets to play with Post-It-Notes when he’s home with me during the day.
They aren’t allowed to play with Post-It-Notes, so please don’t tell them!
Please keep it to yourself that I let our youngest one play with his biggest brother’s Legos during the afternoons and that today he put a Lego mini figure’s hat onto the nipple of his bottle and had a conniption fit from laughing so hard.
Please don’t tell them, okay?
What the big kids don’t know won’t hurt them. Please do not let on that magic wands get chewed on and lunch dates are had. It’s best that the oldest four not know that I Flurry gets to take long bubble baths and that I let the water get as deep as he wants and about how he runs around in the buff for hours afterwords.
Some things are better kept quiet. Please.
Please don’t tell my oldest children that even though it is beyond bizarre that one minute I was homeschooling them and the next they went off to school and that even though I miss them so badly when they’re gone that I am breathlessly enjoying the time with their smallest sibling, the one who spends as much time on my lap as he wants. Just please.
Please don’t tell them about what goes on during the day at our house, okay?
Thanks.

I buy post-it notes on sale every chance I get just for this reason! I keep “yellow-only” for me and let them have the colored ones to play with at will. I keep them rationed by tucking away the stash so they think they are running out and then, voila! More “tickee notes!”
They’re so fun for so many reasons!
Adorable
LOL. Way too cute. He would love my kitchen, I have post it notes all over the place he could rearrange!
lovin’ his long locks. he’s going to have gorgeous hair like K. so jealous!
Time for a new video of that cutie
Your secret’s safe with me! What a cutie!!!
Oh, he is just too cute. What a special time for you both. Cherish every second!!! I know you do!
Just a quick FYI since every time I tell some one they are so surprised….best bargin stickers for kids…..a sheet of 100 1 cent stamps. For a dollar you get 100 little stickers for them to use. My “kids” are 36 and 34 and that is what I gave them way back when. Now I give that to my Grands to play with.
Lachlan is sooooo darn cute! <3 I know I say it about everyone of your kids, but it's true
I just love these pictures. Your “baby” is so adorable, but he seems to have grown up overnight. I’m glad you are getting to spend so much one-on-one time with him. Forgive me if you have answered this question before, but I was wondering how the pets are doing. Are they all with you in your new home? I would love to see some new pictures of them. I’m sure they’ve grown a lot just like Flurry.
That cute face will keep me in from telling! Love his long hair
Such a sweetie! I’m glad you are enjoying and soaking up all this new found time with that precious boy!
So so precious your little side kick !! He is adorable and reminds me of the many sweet pictures of Small Fry. All of your children are so very handsome and tender-hearted. You have taken some amazing pictures that you will treasure forever. Why is it so many little boys get those crazy long BEAUTIFUL eye lashes?
My mom would say of my brother’s “He could bat fly’s with those things ! ” Praying for you that the Lord will continue to reveal Himself to you daily as you seek His Direction for your family. Most Sincerely, Joy
I can’t believe how fast his hair grew. ADORABLE!
Oh my goodness – he looks so big with his hair longer! Ca – ute! Love it! It’s right that you have one on one time with your baby boy! Fun!
love it!
That is way to cute! And I think of it this way. The youngest always gets away with the fun stuff.
I love it! How specialy that you get this time with your littlest boy.
Certainly sounds like you are having some better days. I hope that continues for you and all the children.
Mine youngest (Cullen) is 13 and he STILL likes to spend the day with his mama!
Look at all that hair!! So sweet! Also, so glad you are able to see the gifts in the midst of all this difficult transition!
He looks so much like Small Fry!!!
I agree!!!!!
Only if you dont tell mine!!
Adorable.
I just want to scoop him up and squeeze him. He is so full of joy!! My grand LOVE post its’ too.. and our youngest grand who is with us a bunch, is such an inta! She gets inta everything and makes messes quicker than wecan clean them up!! She and her older brother, now 7, love to stick stuff everywhere, heaven forbid they find a sharpie. In fact, I just found I have foam shapes stuck on the inside of my dining room table leg, ot sure how to get them off. They are really S.T.U.C.K. That is the only NEW table I have ever had so I am a little protective of it!! She is also our climber–at 18 months found her on the counter throwing things off the top of the fridge!! I was gone for about 1 minute..
And YES, I think Lachlan is looking much like his big sister!! They are all gorgeous!
What a handsome cutie pie! My 6 year-old niece loves post-it notes, a couple weeks or so ago she had her Mom write on a post-it note to pack graham crackers in her lunch for the next day so she wouldn’t forget!
My 3 year-old nephew is a big boy, I think he’s already over 36 inches since he’s over the doorknob on doors already! When my sister-in-law was taking his big sister to her 1st day of 1st grade at her new Charter school, my nephew was wandering the halls ahead of his Amma (Mom in Tamil) and his big sister and the principal stopped him and asked him what grade he was in and my nephew just looked up at him with his big grey-blue eyes and the principal thought he was in Kindergarten and my sister-in-law told him he was only 2 and a half (that’s how old he was at the time).
Amy
“Mom’s” the word! (hehe.)
My daughter is the same age as Lachlan (a couple days apart, I think), and she’s a big girl too. Tall and strong with big feet! It looks like they could rival each other’s size! Is he wearing a 3T already? What size shoe is he now? It’s so amazing to me to see a toddler the size of Janie because she makes everyone look tiny!
He is so adorable! Glad you’re getting to spend this time with him
Mckmama, he is just precious as can be! Has he been fully weaned yet, or are you still nursing him sometimes? He certainly looks like a solid boy, who is well fed with healthy nutrition! Good job, Mama!
He’s precious Jennifer.
My youngest loved/loves animals and we joined ‘Friends of the Zoo’, (an Australian thing you pay a fee for the zoo for a year and after 3 or 4 visits you’ve made your money back – do you do that too?) anywho, he and I visited the zoo either once a week or once a fortnight.
We’d drop his older brother and sister at school and off we went. He had a pretend camera (eventually a Fisher Price kids camera) that got a workout and I had my camera.
We both enjoyed that time so much, he still talks about it and wants to be a zoo keeper, as long as he doesn’t have to scoop the poop all day!!
Leanne
My Goodness He’s sooo Flippin’ CUTE!!!
He is just too cute!
When did your baby grow up?! He is such a handsome devil and is looking so much more like his siblings every day!
What sweet, sacred time for the two of you! Drink him in while you can! Praying for you, your McLittles, and your husband. God is good!
Our blog baby is turning into a big boy! *sniffle*
Jennifer – dollar store post it notes for kiddies to play with. All the fun, but not the cost
Flurry is going to end up being your largest child…he is, before our eyes, turning into a big kid!
So crazy, isn’t it!?
I will add this…my daughters were 14mos apart and four years later we had our son. When the girls were in school I cherished every single moment alone with him. He now is 25 and soon to be married and he talks about things that just he and I did all the time. Our secret lunches where he got to decide the place and he always told them where we went….so now, if the girls and I go out we send him a phone picture with a Wish you were here, NOT! caption.
One of our best moments…waiting in line to drop off for pre-school…he was telling me about someone named Creamadujabar(say it super fast). He said it over and over and FINALLY I asked what does this kid do…MOM, HE’S A MAN AND HE PLAYS BASKETBALL. OH, you mean Kareem Abdul Jabbar! He giggled as only a child can do and then I laughed until I had tears and then he giggled at me……all that happiness was before 9AM!
I am glad you are having alone time with Flurry! It obviously agrees with him too!
Funny! I love how they mush words together, and how delighted they are when someone FINALLY understands what they are talking about!!
I took my two year-old to the zoo last week while my four year-old was at preschool. I’m so thankful she didn’t tell him that we rode the train. I’m not sure I could have gotten him to go to school the next day.
Post it notes are the best! Just wait until you can start adding individual letters to them and he can line them up to form words. My girls have ‘graduate’ onto whole words on post-its now. One of their favorite games is when I stick them throughout the house and give them their own sentence. First one to line up all post it notes on the sliding room window in their correct sentence wins. They think it’s a fun game. I think they are g practicing reading. Your kids would totally think you were awesome letting them play with them. So much fun and learning for so little!
Oh, fun!!!!!! I am totally going to do that!!
Love this idea!! Going get a multi-pack of POST-ITS today!!!
A while back (5-6 years ago) I bought what I thought was a glue stick. It ended up being some sort of smear on “stick” that acted just like the stuff on the back of a post-it. I think it was called a Restickable Glue Stick. It didn’t transfer on to other objects, but allowed paper to be stuck and unstuck. I think they still make it, if you’d like to check it out. I know you are always up for an adventure and it would allow your older children to make their own. : ) I promise not to tell, however, if you keep this secret to yourself.
That is just how it is here, too! Accept my little guy is 3 and he can tell the big kids what he has done with Mommy
Cherish every second!!
Oh I never thought about that!
It’s all good though cause then as they say why does he get to do that or this I gently remind them that they did get to do this stuff, too!
It’s important to me now a days to TRY to get a little bit of time with each one. And I say TRY cause life is just so darn busy!
I could drink him up breakfast, lunch and dinner! So yummy cute!
Oh my GOSH I LOVE IT!!!! My Max is two days younger than Lachlan
and I so resonate with Every. Single. Sentiment.
Post away little nudies
Ahh so cute. I had my first 3 very close together, then we added a 4th a few years down the road. I have very much enjoyed my time with. We go on lunch dates, he plays with toys he isn’t suppose to, and we spend every minute together!! I am so sad that he will be going to school in the fall! I will be losing my partner in crime during the day!! (and yes he ALWAYS has to tell the older 3 when he gets something, or he gets to go out to eat!!)
I promise I won’t tell
Oh, and speaking of hair, his little girl friend got her first hair cut the other day…..compliments of her 4yo brother. So, please, hide the scissors!
Oh dear!!!
I just love his whispy hair! Too precious for words! Your secret is safe with me….
My littlest is in Kindergarten this year and I still get lonely for her every day as soon as I drop her off at school. Oh how I miss those days!
Such a 19-month-old cutie pie you have there. He was born within a couple days of my baby, Della. Her favorite thing to do is take wipes from the container since they keep popping up one after another after another. It is so great that you get one on one time with Flurry!
Your secret’s safe! He’s too adorable!
All your kids look so much alike, yet so very different. They all have their unique look! I just love how big he looks with his awesome retro (is that the word for it?) hair.
I think he is going to outgrow all of his big brothers before long!
Do you think he will??
I think he has a good chance. He just looks like he is one solid boy!
He totally is! I think he IS my biggest 18 month old…Big Mac was about his size, too.
And I think he’s the spitting image of Big Mac! Guess everyone sees things differently. After all, your children DO come from the same mold.
Oh, and I totally relate to your baby bliss! I cherished the time with our youngest, as well. Our time together was the best … until preschool. I never realized how tight he and I really were until … preschool. My precious, thrid born, bundle of joy suffered from MAJOR seperation anxiety. It was ugly. His teachers agreed, therefore, he was a preschool dropout. Two years in a row. :/
lol!
Cherish this time, MckMama. They grow so fast! And, omg, your boy really is! Super cute kiddos you have. You are one lucky Mama!
Looks like he’s enjoying his time with mama, too! He’s such a cutie, and just look at all that hair!
I was thinking that boy has got some beautiful long eyelashes. What a big boy he is already. I know being the youngest in my family,I always loved spending my day with my mama.
Aww, you were youngest, too? And yes, Flurry and his sis both have long lashes!
Yup! Out of 5. had an older sister and 3 big brothers.
Oh my! Such an adorable little guy and what a fun post.
My son has really gotten into Post-It Notes lately and I am finding them all over the house and it is DRIVING. ME. INSANE!!! So this post makes me laugh.
And I can’t believe how big Flurry has gotten. I’m glad you are able to look on the bright side of a tough decision.
Post It Notes are better than Sharpies, though!!
That is true! I should look on the bright side
Oh. My. Goodness!!!! What a handsome boy he is! Some of the cutest pictures he’s taken so far! Love it!!!
Aww, thanks Lindsay! I think these are some of his cutest photos, too.
How are your girls?
They are good! Growing rapidly like Flurry! Just registered my youngest for kindergarten in the fall(sniff sniff)!
Oh, oh…he is SOOOOO cute! I have a home with all boys and they are growing up so fast. I remember when they were little and SOOOO cute like that! Savor every moment!
I am trying to! But it’s going SOOOO fast, sounds like you understand!!!
My youngest is now nearly 8 and in first grade. We used to spend that time alone while big brother was at school. It was great and I miss that!
He’s looking like a small small fry! How cute!
I think so, too! But most people don’t say that.
Jen,
I know how you feel. I was in nursing school with my first baby, working with my second and haven’t been away from my third for more than a few hours at a time. Its a beautiful thing to have special time with the littlest one, isn’t it? You know them so completely.
It totally is! So glad you are getting to enjoy your time with your “baby” too!
so cute that guy~ i won’t tell. I do the same thing with bowen, probably why he is so rotten! much love and blessings~erin
I love your little Bowen! I’d do the same thing if he was home with me all day! How are you, friend?
hanging in there….about to get a divorce. My husband choose to continue to lie and cheat on me…but school is going well and I am real proud of the way my boys are adjusting to a different life. Just keep praying…that is all I can do! how about y’all?
Funny! I too treasured the time I spent with our youngest of four when all the older children went off to school.
so sweet!! I love when 3 of my 4 are in school and it is must mommy and baby time. Glad the adjustments are going well.
Precious.
What is it about kids and post-its? They just LOVE those things!
I don’t know but man they DO love them!
Cutest. Post. Ever.
Aww, thanks! And nice to hear from you. Aren’t you the E.A. girl? It’s been a while, no?
No, but you have seen my name for years now!
My lips are sealed
Enjoy every minute of it! I am sure Lachlan is!!
He’s looking so much older in these pictures! And more adorable than ever!
I know! I was thinking the same thing, how much OLDER looking he’s gotten very recently!
super cute!!! I do the same thing…..my littlest has fewer rules if any when my oldest is in school
