He is so brave! My hubby and I see huge ones on our walks and we always steer clear of them. Despite the fact that we are hundreds of times bigger, they creep us both out! so…umm…way to go Nuggey! Haha!
Huge grasshoppers are rare where we live so when I seen one on the sidewalk I was anxious to show my son…he was 2 at the time. I pointed the grasshopper out to him….thinking if he got close enough it would hop away and we both would SQUEAL with delight. Within seconds my son grabbed the grasshopper and straight to the mouth it was going!! I squealled then! My husband said I probably scarred him for life now. CUTE picture!!!
I am one of those “bugs are icky” kind of people, but at the same time I love to photograph them. Love the sun spots, it really adds a pop to the picture.
It’s a MckGrasshopper!* (I think a cricket would have worked better, because MckCricket sounds better, so next time have Nuggey catch a cricket. Thanks).
Very cute picture! But I confess….I am TERRIFIED of grasshoppers. I hate them. Those long legs and then jump and you don’t know where they went–which of course means they are ON me.
I saw the title, but the picture was loading sooo slowly for me this morning, and yet I just knew it was Nuggey and a critter of the green variety. Fun times!
wow that is one gigantic head. I’ve never seen a grasshopper like that before! It almost looks animated! Nuggey is destined to be some amazing animal person someday, hehe! Well, maybe. If he chooses that
I love the colors in this picture. Absolutely beautiful. Be warned…those grasshoppers BITE!! I just did a post on my blog a few days ago where my son had one for a pet and it bit him. Hard!!!
Sometimes those “twinkle spots” come when I’m really shooting in the sun. And last night I added those (“lens flare”) to my photo in Photoshop! Fun, fun!!!
HAA!
I don’t know what I like more.
The grasshopper or the “sun-spots” you placed so carefully in the photo.
Good on you!
Hee….I eagerly await more creative photoshopped photos.
I just started cleaning with natural products

Cool picture! Though, I think grasshoppers are yucky! Speaking of, there’s one in my window! I need Nuggey!
LOVE this photo!!! You ROCK!
What a cool picture!!! I love praying mantises
They are the non-buggiest-bug!!
Awesome picture!

He has the most darling little hands. So gentle, yet very boyish.

Great pic!!
You can also get sun flare spots for real and not just in Photoshop. Just position the camera facing the sun.
What a precious pic! So neat to zoom in on what their little hands are holding. Love the bright colors & sun spots as well!
He is so good at catching things!!! I love his little animal adoring heart!!
Great photo, that little, green grasshopper actually looks happy! I’m sure Nuggey was too! I think his new nickname should be ‘the bug whisperer’!

love those twinkle spots… what are they called and HOW did you do that?! fun!!
They’re called lens flares and you can apply them with the lens flare filter in Photoshop.

Two of God’s beautiful creations!
I see a gentle little hand holding a grasshopper that actually seems to be smiling. Oh, and I like the sunspots too.
Best,
Bonnie
Nuggey right!? What a cool picture!! Boys and their bugs. I’m curious how it was edited as well
Love it!
So cute! So now I need to know how you take photos of sunspots to photoshop in…or did you find them online? I love it! Can’t wait to try it!
