Before I get to that, let me bring you up to speed on my life. I know, you’ve been dying to know. We’re back from Up North, I did not vomit last night from too much stomach acid like I did the night before, we went swimming at the pool by our cabin, I passed my three hour glucose test, Small Fry calls a trampoline a “jumpoline” and is obsessed with trying to convince people to give her chewing gum, my husband manned the grill for a dinner the organization he volunteers for had tonight, we got letters from two of our sponsored children and I cried, the straw bales are growing great, we left a cup of milk on the counter while we were gone and I cleaned it out today while gagging, the groom from this weekend’s wedding commented on my wedding photo post, we need groceries in a bad way, my parents had a great time on their boat trip on the Erie Canal, I think the RSS glitch is finally resolved so none of you should be having feed issues with my blog any longer and this press release was made public:
LAFAYETTE, Tenn. (May 26, 2010) – On Thursday, June 3rd at 9 a.m., international hunger relief organization Feed The Children will distribute a semi tractor-trailer full of food and personal care items at the Bethel Family Worship Center. The distribution was made possible by the readers of Mckmama.com.
Bethel Family Worship Center is a partner agency of Feed The Children and has pre-identified the 400 recipient families. The boxes are designed to help a family of four for up to one week.
This distribution is one of 18 semi tractor-trailers full of food and disaster relief items sent for disaster and food relief to aid the flood victims in Central Tennessee, Arkansas and Kentucky where rain has caused flash floods and widespread damage to structures and homes in the area.
“Many people are experiencing difficult times due to the recent flooding,” said Tony Sellars, spokesperson for Feed The Children. “The generous donation from the readers of Mckmama.com will help put food on the table for families that otherwise might have gone without.”

Also, have you ever tried drinking heavy whipping cream to help with your heartburn? When I was pregnant a doula friend of ours suggested this to me. She told me to take 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream before each meal and before bed. It did not always help but I did noticed a reduction in my heart burn.
These would be perfect for my 2-month-old niece. I’ve been made responsible for making sure she has enough girly-ness in her life since I grew up one of three girls.

I have acid reflux really bad and my doctor recommended me elevating the head of my bed 6 inches. I put cinder blocks under the 2 top “feet” of the bed. It’s really helped…I’m on meds too (Nexium, Reglan & Domperidone) but I’m guessing you might not be able to take those while pregnant. Not sure. I really think elevating the bed makes a big difference. It feels weird the first night but after that you get used to it.
I adore that picture of Small Fry walking in the field. Adore it. So berry scrumptious!! I also adore those berry, berry cute clips from Briar Claire. And now I am starting to feel a bit too much like Strawberry Shortcake, so I’ll be signing off.

We have 2 daughters who love their strawberries…and clips too! Did I mention they are named Strawberry Shortcake and Apple Dumpling? No, they aren’t really named that, but they do like Strawberry Shortcake.

You should drink baking soda water, heavy on the water. It helps a lot with acid!! Hope that helps!
