It’s hardly a secret that I love am utterly obsessed with editing my photographs. For me, not editing a photograph is like not having candles on a birthday cake, not brushing my teeth, not having ketchup with my fries, not putting Vaseline on my teeth to make them shiny. Okay, I’m just kidding about that last one. But I remember reading in some worthless beauty magazine as a teenager that that is what models do.
But back to photographs. I love to edit them. They become like little paintings to me, the photos. I pour my time and heart and soul into them, working on each photograph for hours on end.
At least, I used to before I discovered the wonderful world of presets. I mean, it does kind of feel like cheating. Using presets. But sometimes cheating feels good. I mean, not that I would know. I swear (except I don’t) that I earned all my A’s in school and didn’t cheat. But I can imagine.
I use presets and actions in Photoshop and Lightroom that I bought, downloaded for free and created myself. They are so fun and they allow me, with the click of my mouse, to instantly alter the look and feel of my photographs. So I can have more time for eating Honey Nut Cheerios playing with my children.

I’ve recently deiscovered presets and LOVE them. I do struggle a bit with the idea that the photo should be great SOOC before editing. However, apparently, I can’t really tell the difference anyway, because I did not think that the majority of your photos were edited except for saturation. Pick me and I’ll make you proud MckMama!
Saturation and sometimes lighting is all I typically edit on my photos these days, actually. So, you’re right. But I can’t keep from doing at least a little tweaking in those areas to each of my photos;)

As of now, I only have 2 kiddos, and I’ve been just crazy in thought as to how in the world you had the time to edit each of your photos individually, take care of kiddos and love your hubby all at the same time! phewf! I love playing around with the editiing tools on Photoshop. It really does just enhance the beauty of a great picture. Love the ideas of presets. Must figure that out (pending I am not the winner of course – haha).
